Background
PAN is a membership-led body at the heart of a network of around 75 voluntary and professional promoters. PAN members operate across half the geographical area of Scotland, throughout the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

PAN provides networking, support and advocacy for its membership, specifically in assisting communication between touring companies, artists and local volunteer promoter groups, and by representing these promoters to stakeholders on a regional and national level. Over the past 18 months the organisation has been exploring ways in which it can significantly enhance this provision and build an infrastructure that serves its members in a more sustained, dynamic way.

Plans
PAN has secured Amb:IT:ion funding to commission a custom social networking platform that integrates all the core functions and services of the organisation into a single online location.

This platform will connect promoters with touring companies; link the profiles, skills and experience of individual committee members; be a pool of dynamic, editable, up-to-date information and expertise; automate administrative functions, such as annual subscription; provide space to discuss, debate and share ideas as well as collate and store data and provide documentation to aid wider advocacy to agencies and funders.

PAN aims to have this platform in Beta testing during Spring 2011, being gradually rolled out across the membership and made available over the course of the year.

The Support and Resource Officers will be part of the delivery of training and mentoring to members during the commissioning, development, testing and launch of the new web platform. In order to do this, the SROs themselves will be trained by PAN, HI~Arts and GANE personnel.
