26th March 2009
We were shocked to hear, yesterday, of the sudden death of Kerry Corbett, Culture and Libraries Manager for Argyll and Bute Council. Those who had the pleasure of meeting her at the Forums she attended were impressed with her enthusiasm for the arts and her warm personality.
PAN sends sincere condolences to her family and colleagues, especially Eileen Rae, Arts Development Officer.

SAC Performing Arts Programming Fund Deadline 20th April
The start of a new financial year for all of us and especially for the Scottish Arts Council, soon to be Creative Scotland. Don't forget to keep checking their website for any changes as they don't consistently send reminders. The next deadline for the Programming Fund (for those who were too busy in January filling in their tax returns) is 20th April.
If you do apply for this fund, please let PAN know; as a result of conversations with the SAC recently, it would be useful to know how many of our members are accessing this fund successfully.
The Future for Arts and Cultural Policy: A Creative Scotland?
Edinburgh, 28th April
A one day conference and an opportunity to debate all aspects and intentions of arts and cultural policy in Scotland. There will be a chance to engage with Mike Russell, the new Culture Minister, and other key players. Jennie Macfie will be representing PAN while fellow board member Gwilym Gibbons, though representing Shetland Arts, will also be there. Their reports will be posted on the site afterwards, once the smoke clears....
If anyone else wants to go, please get in touch with Catherine right away.

The NRTF's International showcase and conference on Rural Touring opens next week in St Aidan's College, Durham City in the North East of England. PAN will be represented by ex-Administrator Duncan MacInnes (SEALL) and Tammy Hedderwick (Coll) whose reports will be posted on this site afterwards.
PAN venues and local Film Clubs
The PAN Office is occasionally asked about developing programmes to include film - at least 12 PAN members already do show film. With no more than a DVD player, a small projector and a simple sound system you can bring cinema to your hall.

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter to all PAN members, touring artistes and visitors to this website. Let's hope the sun shines on all of us for the rest of the year.
